Coffee tasteless without sugar

DJ Black Coffee, pictured, second from left, announced his second annual Music is King Concert at a media launch at the Universal Studios in Rosebank this week.

With his sons by his side, he showed off what is going to be a strong mix masala of music, art and fashion over two days. With on international act Tom Misch, music lovers will be spoilt for choice with a line-up of local acts too – such as AKA, Sjava, Moonchild Sanelly, Samthing Soweto and Muzi. Seems Sjava has abandoned the hobo vibes, he was actually looking neat and put together.

A google search had to be done for Shwa to remember who Tom Misch is. Well, brother man is the UK-born musician responsible for the It Runs Through Me single which features De La Soul. We will have to see if Misch is worth our time and money.

Feeling homely

DJ Zinhle is the ghel doing the things.
This week, she launched a home design brand with a friend, Brandon Reynolds, delectably named Jiyane Atelie. But that Umlilo song, nana. Although your fans feel it may be a strong contender for festive jam of the year, Shwa thinks you could have done better on the vocals.

Champaigne and marital bliss all over the show for all to witness

Look to the hills for inspiration as there is a new champopo in town, Durbanville Hills sparkling wine rose. But the launch held at San Deck in Sandton lacked the right kind of crowd to celebrate the sebubbles.

A few media personalities such as YFM’s drive time co-host Tshepi Mabulana and Abigail Visagie felt out of place with minimal local celebrities in sight.

Who deserves forgiveness?

Prince Kaybee needs to learn to give credit where it is due.
Forgetting the most important person on your Fetch your life song – Msaki – is a serious no no! This one is unforgivable.

You can’t just delete and say sorry! Shwa will never forget this one nana.

Jealousy breeds nastiness

Just as the British Royal visit concluded, it emerged that the country’s traditional leaders complained bitterly about the treatment they received. So jealous were our kings, under the umbrella of the Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (Contralesa), they remarked that the excitement over the visit by Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, is much ado about nothing. This bunch are known to be jealous. Ask Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini, who gets more cash than most of the Contralesa guys.

Poor man’s shoes

Finance Minister Tito Mboweni is trying that “Umlungu-old money” vibes on us. Mamela! Malume! you can’t be wearing shoes looking worse than those of a beggar just nje. Show us where our money going. If you want, Shwa can ask David Tlale to sponsor you a pair of his new range with Crockett & Jones – shoes worn by Madiba back in the day.
