Prof gives a great class uber big birthday bash
LAST weekend Moi found shimself wandering the streets of Durban.
Moi ended up in Umlazi at kwaito star Professor's mom's home where the Big One was celebrating his birthday.
I like Durban, it's the only place where scribes are treated like royalty.
We waited for the man of the moment to arrive as he was still doing a radio interview at Gagasi FM.
Must admit it wasn't difficult to spot the birthday boy's siblings - they all look alike with their trademark front teeth gap.
What also stood out was Prof's brothers' down-to-earth attitude and ubuntu.
Stay humble sweeties, your mom taught you well!
Famous brothers DJ Mngani and Character showed their faces.
Character made a grand entrance with a lady sporting blonde braids.
I must admit Mngani has cleaned himself up well. He was looking über cool in tight jeans tucked into his boots.
Spotted DJ Oros who truly resembles the puppet character on the juice bottle. I later saw him dragging himself to his car after lunch.
How many servings did you have?
Also bumped into Lucky from the gospel group Avante.
Tjo! I have never seen such a horrible phuza face.
Do you practise what you preach?
There was alcohol and yummy food lasting for days and one of Prof's brothers did a good job ensuring that supply kept up with the demand.
After the stint at Professor's moi trekked off to the Vintage Hotel donned in moi's Sunday best for the Malibongwe Women's Club gala dinner.
The event was the brainchild of fashion guru and events co-ordinator Noksi Khasibe.
The who's who of Durban were there for the launch of the club's campaign aimed at promoting "self acceptance" among the fairer sex.
This year's theme is Zithande Wena, meaning love yourself.
Moi doesn't need to be reminded that shim loves good parties and of course, loves shimself.
Hostess Noksi, a jet-setter of note, looked stylish in a mustard dress she picked up in Thailand.
One of the speakers, Samkelisiwe "Sam" Ka Nyathi, an accomplished author and motivational speaker, is also of the Malibongwe Club.
What a beautiful soul and epitome of an African woman!
"Sam" gave a superb motivational talk and moi found shimself trying to kiss shimself in "self acceptance".
Spotted DJ Tira's current flame and baby mama, the ridiculously sexy Gugu Mbabama.
The gal is airbrushed. Yhu, her fake eye lashes were so long she could dust a table with them. And don't get me started on her long fake nails.
Wow, competing with her man's groupies has really upped the game in her style department.
Is it me or does Gugu resemble Tira's ex wife Lale?
Oops, I hope this won't interfere with peace at home.
Perfume and fragrance designer and manufacturer Shilex was also there.
I wish Nonhle Thema could learn from this perfumista and just sit down ... B-O-O-M!
Entertainment was provided by a gal called Sexy Diva who was accompanied by almost ten people.
Baby, get rid of those hangers-on before you become famous, they will suck you dry.
Why do you think Shwashwi is a loner? Everyone wants a piece of Moi!
Chilled with my favourite gal, Minenhle Nxumalo from Gagasi FM.
Mama Thobi Mhlongo, chief director of the department of social development, represented MEC Weziwe Thusi and gave a stunning speech.
Now please take the campaign to Joburg. I know Mshoza, Kelly Khumalo and Khanyi Mbau need to be reminded to love themselves.
Zithande Wena!
