THE scholarship given to music veteran Sipho "Hotstix" Mabuse by Unisa to study music has caused discontent at the campus, with some SRC members claiming there are more deserving candidates for the reward.
Well I have to admit I get their point. Granted he is an inspiration and all that but the man is not exactly poor. Many of UNISA's students are and are more deserving of a bursary.
Now he needs to plough back to the community by sponsoring the studies of other learners, and I mean he does not need to do this when he complete his studies. That would earn him some points.
I need a scholarship to study at Unisa, I work but I cannot affort their fees, they one 50% of the tuition fees before one gets regitered, where on earth am I going to get R9,000.00 from!
