KAIZER Chiefs and Bafana Bafana star player Siphiwe "Shabba" Tshabalala might be in the national team that will attempt to emulate the Class of '96, but he is far from being a happy man.

Tshabalala, who scored the first goal for Bafana Bafana and of the 2010 World Cup at Soccer City, has been dogged by an imposter who is tweeting in his name.

The Twitter account - Tshabalala_8 - has been blazing the social networks since October 2011 and has more than 3500 followers.

"South Africa (sic) Hero, addicted to vuvuzelas, verified hairstylist (sic) and dance instructor. It's Tshabalala, Siphiwe Tshabalala," says the rogue account holder in his biography.

The account, complete with Tshabalala's picture, was last updated on Thursday.

The tweet reads: "No idea about what happened the last week while I have been in Denmark, I just know that I will be going home tomorrow."

Tshabalala, who is in camp with the national team, is appealing to South Africans to shun the scamster.

"I just want to make it clear to all people in the country that I have never been on Twitter. I don't even know how it works or what it looks like.

"The person who is doing this in my name is really unfair because a lot of people out there think it is me for real. Sometimes he uses bad language, which is damaging my image and reputation.

"I have nothing against social networks because they help people keep in touch and network for career and business purposes, but abusing these is not on," says a distraught Tshabalala.

In December, a follower tweeted a picture of Tshabalala, to which the con artist responded: "That picture looks like I am letting loose a massive poo."

Also in December, the scamster tweeted: "Had my first solid bowel movement of the week today, not solid but solid enough."

The account has tweeted more than 1800 times.

Shabba!

If you stop being playful

Like asking cell numbers of that waitress

Wimpy at the Glen

People will take you seriously

If youre a player in real life

Your imposter will look real

Just like you

STOP IT

and be serious
