An associate who asked not to be named says: "I think it's a relief for the station because she's been attracting a lot of bad publicity recently" - referring to reports of an affair with married Cope youth leader Melusi Booi, a public spat with Muvhango actor Themba Nofemele and threats by a bank to repossess her Fourways house.

Majeke confirms she's leaving but won't comment further. She resigned last month and leaves at the end of this month.

"Talk is she's joining a Namibian or Malawian broadcasting corporation," says our mole.

e.tv spokesperson Matlapulana Ragoasha confirms the resignation.
