Motsepe house saga: NPA to decide
Colonel van Rooyen of Orlando police station confirms that the are police about to hand over the matter of the house dispute involving businessman Cyril Ramaphosa's wife Dr Tshepo Motsepe-Ramaphosa to the Public Prosecutor for a decision.
Earlier this month the occupants of house 105 Adams street in Orlando were shocked to receive a tax and rates statement addressed to an unknown Lebogo & Motsepe R,R,S,P&MS.
The owner of the house, Boitumelo Mbongwa, went into a spin, suspecting that her niece, Dr Motsepe-Ramaphosa, was behind the fraudulent registration.
Her suspicion stemmed from the fact that the family had met two months before to try to restore domestic bliss after many disputes had taken place under that tin roof.
It also transpired that a video tape of a ranting Mbongwa was taken while she made utterances to the effect that she consented to the house being subdivided.
It had previously been two semi- detached residences and was made into one house some years back.
Colonel Van Rooyen confirms that the case will be taken to the Public Protector as soon as Dr Motsepe-Ramaphosa is contacted.
Sunday World did receive a phone call from a man who introduced himself as Thabo Lekoma, who said he and a woman called Passionate wanted a chance to set the record straight on the issue of the disputed house, but they failed to pitch for their interview.
