Take a hike, Palesa!
SABC1's top gospel music show presenter Palesa Mocuminyane was allegedly told by her producers to start looking for a job after she asked them for a salary hike.
The former Generations actress has presented Gospel Gold since taking over from TKZee member Zwai Bala following his controversial removal from the show three years ago.
An SABC official who asked not to be named for fear of victimisation, says Mocuminyane wrote to her bosses at Engagement Production, the producers of the popular show, asking for a salary increase.
"Motivating her request, she told them she had been presenting the show for three years and she deserves an increase.
"She also told them she'd increased the show's ratings to four million viewers since taking over from Bala," says the official.
But Mocuminyane's boss Vusi Zion, our source says, told her that her salary wouldn't be increased because the SABC has canned the show.
"She was shocked. If the show's being canned why did they wait for her to ask for an increase before telling her that?
"And how can the SABC can a show that is doing so extremely well?" asks the official.
After being pressed for comment, Mocuminyane says: "I don't know what's happening and I won't discuss my contract with Engagement with the media.
"But whatever decision they make will be fine with me because I enjoyed my stay with Gospel Gold and will always cherish the memories of the time I spent there," she says.
The show's producer Sbu Ngobeni says: "We know nothing about the SABC canning Gospel Gold.
"Yes, we had a meeting with her last week but it was just the normal meeting we have on a weekly basis and she didn't discuss any salary hike with us"
SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago says: "As far as we are concerned Gospel Gold is not going to be discontinued".

There is too much fake Gospel singers, if really they are doing this to preach the word of God, it should be for free, All Gospel music should not be sold, it must be distributed for free. Right now people are doing Gospel music for wrong reasons, money. It is sad, to see a drunkard, drunk and singing gospel, Ministers busy with other man's wifes and yet singing Gospel, who are we fooling? God or Ourselves? Gospel music should be freeMicaParis
Those are the show business guys for you, they will handle you with care and after they had ''done'' with you throw you away like a hot potato. This lady earned a slot in Generations because of intimate pleasures after the Generations lads had enough of her they damped her as usual just like other countless victims! I thought she learned the lesson well but hell no, voila, she get caught again and what, another producer is looking at her eyeing the same opportunity, if you are on the limelight (TV) anybody who want to f***k will go for you and if you are not careful you will be F*****k up and while you are f***k up nobody will look at you.Whilst on TV still looking good / beautiful please acquire good formal qualifications that can lead you to corporate world after the show buzz industry spew you like saliva out of mouth. After TV bosses had f***ked you nobody will even dare to talk to you the entertainment industry is full of players and womanisers, how the hell our ladies do not learn!

@PapageI aggree with you and your principles are correct.
Unless it was already in the system and was provided for elsewhere,
e.g. in South Africa the government ....... and the musicians......
But those singing Gospel have to compose, record not for free and pay monthly bills
I live with a recording musician in my house, a rather old person already, and from that experience
CAN I PLEASE SAY NO!
music grew me up and made me who i am i wouldnt be here if you were getting it free!
and stop buying pirate cds and dvds!!

@Papage , this is something I never understood, they claim too be preaching the word of God, but they will never let you in the concert for free to pray/worship/praise with them, every broke niggar lately tries their hand at gospel....how pathetic....@Sebola, its okay to record and sell as a business, its another if you claim you are God chosen and preaching his word while you charge....are we saying broke niggars dont belong to God.Read all 6 comments
