Shame, no pay for Jub Jub's song

HIP-HOP muso Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye has been shouting Ndikhokhele at the top of his voice but the song hasn't paid off.
The hit song, which was released in 2006, received massive air play in the past five years but hasn't made money for the star.
A document in Sunday World's possession that shows the payment for all the tracks on that album, indicates Ndikhokhele is the only song that has not been paid for. This because the song is in dispute.
Sunday World understands Thato "T'do" Mahlatsi complained about receiving a low percentage of royalties for rearranging the song.
He allegedly accused Jub Jub and the Jaziel Brothers of giving each other higher percentages than him.
But T'do's manager Vongani Rikhotso says the dispute was resolved.
"The royalties were stopped because (gospel group) IPCC complained that the guys did not use the original hymn to rearrange the song, but copied their (IPCC's) version of the hymn," says Rikhotso.
Musicians close to the situation say other musicians who complained about the song include Lesego, who was allegedly used in the song but was and not credited for his input.
South African Music Rights (Samro) marketing and communications manager Kgomotso Mosenogi says they initiated an investigation into this matter.
She says their records show that no dispute was lodged in relation to the song.
"Furthermore, royalties have been paid to the registered rights holders of the song. Unfortunately, in order to preserve member confidentiality we are prohibited from disclosing any further details regarding these payments," says Mosenogi.
Senior copyright administrator at Sheer publishing, Bongani Mathejwa, refuses to comment, saying the information should be released by the artists themselves.
"There's a contractual agreement between artists and publishers which we are not going to divulge," says Mathenjwa.
Jub Jub could not be reached for comment. His phone rang without being answered and he failed to respond to our SMSes.
