FORMER president Nelson Mandela is returning to Johannesburg after spending six months in Qunu, his place of birth.
President Jacob Zuma's office yesterday said Mandela will be returning to his Johannesburg home today though it did not indicate if he was coming back permanently.
"Former President Nelson Mandela will return to his home in Johannesburg on Sunday January 29 as routine maintenance has to be undertaken at his Qunu home in the Eastern Cape.
"The former president continues to be in good health," Zuma's office said in a statement.
Mandela left for Qunu just before his birthday in July last year and indications were that he was happier in Qunu than in Johannesburg.
