Here's how to make delicious heart shaped steaks for Valentine's Day dinner:
2 thick fillet steaks, formed into heart shapes by tying the edges with string
Coarse salt Coarsely ground pepper
2tsp olive oil
Red Wine Sauce:
1 cup red wine
Season fillets generously on both sides with salt and pepper, patting in firmly
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook fillets for 3 to 5 minutes a side for medium-rare, longer for well done
Remove strings from fillets and serve with Red Wine Sauce and roasted veggies.
To make Red Wine Sauce
Boil wine in a saucepan until reduced to ¼ cup.
Remove from heat, add butter, season with salt and swirl pan until butter is melted and sauce is thickened, about 1 minute.
