Believe it or not, most men are conscious about their hair. Appearances are just as important to their lady friends as well. So we spoke to a few ladies to ask them how they feel about men’s hairstyles and what does a guy’s hairstyle say about him...

Yes, I think like everything else, it is a big part of who you are... It’s totally part of your identity...

I’m not very particular but I wouldn’t date a man who relaxes or plaits their hair... It’s just sooo nasty.....

Dreads and a clean shaven head. I think they are very sexy... Very different styles but both embody something sexy about them...And the dreads - the rougher the better... But the clean shaven look is my favourite, it’s mean yet smooth... It’s very very sexy...
Which hairstyles are your least favourite in men and why?
Relaxed or plaited... I think it’s unmanly and that it shows great vanity on his part.

Do you think the way a man wears his hair says a lot about him?
Yes it does. It shows what they think of themselves. If they are serious about their look they will have bald heads and if they don’t they will have scruffy look.
Does the way your man wear his hair matter to you?
Let’s say I did have a boyfriend, I would prefer a man with an Afro (combed not rough as you indicated below) and yes definitely dreadlocks (clean and well kept dreadlocks, not the spaghetti mop or a guy who gets them platted like Parsons used to, NOT AYOBALICIOUS)
Which hairstyles are your least favourite in men and why?
I don’t like corn rows in men, they seem to be too in-touch with their feminine side, it can be a problem if I want to use the mirror!
From the guys selected which hairstyle would you prefer and why?
I would prefer clean shaven head or a neatly combed Afro, Dreadlocks are not bad either, again they need to be clean and tidy.

I think a man’s hairstyle says whether he takes too much time looking in the mirror or not. Sometimes it says that he has a story to tell.

Not really, because he doesn’t spend much time hogging the mirror.
How does your man wear his hair?
My man wears his hair really short (brush cut but sometimes bald).
Which hairstyles are your least favourite in men and why?
Cornrows, means he has to spend a lot of time in the mirror and end up using all the moisturiser and my stockings which I use as my evening head gear.

- I like the clean shaven head and Jahseed/Appleseed’s look cause his hair looks like it has a story to tell and I like that in a man.

Do you think the way a man wears his hair says a lot about him?
Absolutely. Hair says a so much about a person, even if they aren’t aware of it themselves. I reckon men who don’t take care of their hair certainly don’t take good care of themselves. And there’s something about a good hair do - it can boost self-confidence and satisfaction. So you can tell a guy whose confident and satisfied and one. Who isn’t.

Definitely. While there’s more to a man than his hair - the way he wears his hair tells me just how much he takes care of himself. The way he wears his hair also says a lot about his sense of fashion and personality.

Clean shaven look - Clean, smart. There’s certainly no competing for the mirror in the morning.

Dreadlocks and plaits, unless you are Shemar Moore who plays Orlando in the Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
From the hairstyles below which one would you prefer and why?
Clean shaven look - It’s classy and distinguished. I tend to take people with clean shaved heads seriously. You know what they say; a picture is worth a thousand words. Then again the right hair style can improve a man’s appearance instantly.
