30 Rock star Grizzwald Chapman, is appealing for a kidney donor after losing the 68kg he needed to shed before undergoing a transplant.
The funnyman suffers from severe hypertension and has to undergo dialysis three times a week but doctors told the 230kg star he would need to shape up before surgery.
Chapman, who plays Tracy Morgan’s sidekick on the hit TV comedy, is now hoping to find a suitable organ donor after slimming down to 160kg.
He told US newsman Larry King, “When I first came down with the sickness (hypertension), I was 505 pounds (230kg). And they will not do the kidney transplant at that weight.
“So I had to bring myself down to a reasonable weight, anywhere from 300 to 350 pounds, in order to have the kidney transplant. I’m actually right now at 350.
“Now it’s just a process of getting the right person to donate the kidney because, being that I’m a larger man, I just can’t take a smaller person’s kidney. Everybody’s kidney is the size of their fist and I have a pretty big fist,” he said.
