Singer Sharon Dee is whipping former Zimbabwean international soccer star Peter Ndlovu 2-0 ... but the game is not over yet.
Ndlovu has been credited with the two goals he scored with his ex-wife, singer Sharon Dee, but in this game the two strikes are not in his favour.
This time it wasn’t a referee, but lab technicians working in a Jozi paternity test laboratory who gave him the thumbs down.
The 36-year-old striker, who was denying the paternity of his two boys, was proven wrong when the results declared him their biological father.
Ndlovu was told about the paternity test results when the two appeared in court on Monday.
But the “Bulawayo Bullet”, as Ndlovu is popularly known, tried to play another trick on the law by going to court without his lawyer.
However, this did not stop the court from breaking the news that he was indeed the biological dad of Sharon Dee’s two sons.
The Thanda Royal Zulu striker was reluctant to proceed with the case without his lawyer but the court gave him the original copy of the results, which were also read out to him.
He was ordered to bring his lawyer next month for them to discuss the monthly maintenance figures Ndlovu must pay.
Sharon Dee, of Local is Lekker fame, is demanding more than R36,000 a month papgeld from him – R13,000 for each of the two kids and R10,000 for herself, and for Ndlovu to contribute to the bond payments.
But the Bulawayo Bullet refused to pay maintenance for the kids, arguing that he was not sure whether they were his kids.
Ndlovu, who earned more than R120,000 a month, while playing for Mamelodi Sundowns about a year ago, also argued that the money his ex-wife is demanding was too much and he couldn’t afford it.
Sharon Dee, real name Hlengiwe Dlamini, told Sunday World that Ndlovu was a very good and responsible father until their divorce last year.
“But for him to go dispute his kids’ paternity in public is very stupid and low. I know he planned that and I can tell you it’s very stupid on his side.
“Personally, I wasn’t insulted because I’d prepared myself for such things since the day I filed for the divorce.
"You can’t be married to someone for more than 10 years and come back to say the kids are not yours.
“I don’t want anything from him except that he must support his kids.
“I can’t chase him like all these [other] women who are chasing after him because I don’t want him any more,” says Sharon Dee.
Efforts to get Ndlovu’s comment yesterday drew a blank.
